Oyster King at the Volvo Ocean Race this week in Cape Town

If you haven’t been down to the V&A Waterfront this week to catch a glimpse at the 7 beautiful yachts berthed there then you only have a few more days to do so!

The  Volvo Ocean Race kicks off in Cape Town on the 19 November 2014 where the 7 yachts and their crew will sail out of Cape Town on the next leg of a 9 month long epic ocean race around the world. It is the ultimate sailing event.

The race started 37 years ago and is now watched by millions of viewers around the globe. The Facebook page alone has over 1 million likes!

Schouten Global, whose head office in Holland, is co-sponsor of the Brunel Team who are racing the Dutch Boat – Schouten focuses on soft skill training and coaching skills.

Schouten Global coaches the Team Brunel for the duration of the Volvo Ocean Race – as all participating boats are identical, the skipper and his crew are the decisive factors in winning the grueling race.

Oyster King is by origin a Dutch concept and oysters a delectable ocean delicacy so it was a natural fit that Oyster King be included in their corporate hospitality event.

And as herring is a favourite dish of the Dutch we have developed a new concept especially for the occasion – meet our Dutch Herring Queen.

Served on Dutch rye bread with beautiful piece of Herring and finely chopped onions – guests felt they were home away from home.
